Essex PGA Overseas Pro-Am 2019

The annual overseas Pro-Am held in Belek Turkey

As proud sponsors of the Essex PGA it was our pleasure to take this year’s overseas Pro-Am to the wonderful golf destination of Belek in Turkey. With 86 people including PGA Staff we had to find a hotel to suit all needs and the Titanic Deluxe met all requirements and much more, fantastic facilities and food was excellent. The main event was played over 3 days playing the on-site Titanic Golf Club twice and a round at Kaya Palazzo Golf Club on the middle day. Both courses of a high quality and thoroughly enjoyed by the group, however 26°C and sunshine in November always helps.

The Essex PGA Pro-Am was won by the team from South Essex Golf Club, Stuart Corner, George Jaxon, Paul Gurney and their PGA Professional James Scade, who went on to win the individual with a magnificent score of 9 under par. Congratulations to all.

Many of the group decided to extend their stay by flying out a few days early as the Turkish Airlines Open was being held at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club and what a spectacle it was. Two days up close and personal with some of the worlds golfing greats, Justin Rose, Patrick Reed, Francesco Molinari, Martin Kaymer, Lee Westwood, Alex Noren but this year victorious in a 6 man play-off, under the floodlights for the first time in European Tour history, was our very own Tyrrell Hatton.

In summary, Belek is an amazing golf destination with superb hotels, an abundance of stunning golf courses and sunshine all year-round, the perfect recipe for your next golfing adventure.
