De Zalze Golf Club is one of the most beautiful and interesting golf courses in the Cape, set perfectly in the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate in Stellenbosch. Although only 10 years old, De Zalze has already hosted the World Amateur and SA Amateur Championships and has established itself as one of the Cape's best courses and golf estates. The layout is beautifully constructed among some of the Cape's finest wine farms and combined with some picturesque water features you can enjoy views of the Cape Winelands and Helderberg mountains from every hole.
The course has an interesting and varied layout and the back nine must be considered one of the best in the country. It includes the signature 13th which is a short par 4 along the side of the beautiful lake. The bold golfer can drive the green but the clever golfer plays for the fairways with a long iron and takes a par. This is followed by the breathtaking par 5, 14th which is an elevated drive to a choice of two fairways split in the middle by a huge fairway bunker. Its a hole that for once you don't want to hit a perfectly straight drive. The 18th is another treat and if you get to play it from the top tee's you'll never forget it. Teeing off way above the clubhouse a golfer can once again choose to drive the green and risk the stream in front of it or play safe down the fairway and hope for an accurate approach.
When you're finished your round make sure you leave time to enjoy the luxurious clubhouse with spectacular views and excellent service. The club also offers brilliant warm up facilities including a driving range and chipping greens as well as a good pro shop with a selection of clothing, shoes, clubs and accesories.
