The region consists of two main golf areas. In the south of the region there are four courses; La Envía Golf, Playa Serena Golf, Alboran Golf and Golf Almerimar, and four courses in the north of the region, ; Desert Springs, Marina Golf, Aguilon Golf and Valle del Este, all within easy reach of the towns of Vera and Mojacar.
With more courses under construction, this area has become a serious golf holiday destination. Golf courses are less crowded and less expensive than those of the longer established golf holiday destinations such as the Costa del Sol or the Algarve, making Almeria the perfect venue for a budget golfing break.
